Cromwell marked the first move beyond our Wānaka roots.
Opened in 2016 in a former pop-up retail space, our Cromwell Mexican restaurant quickly became a lively hub for locals and visitors alike. It was a hands-on project that helped define the style and atmosphere now seen across other Amigos restaurants.
Ten years later, in 2026, the restaurant expanded into the neighbouring premises, nearly doubling its seating capacity and creating even more space for good food and good times.
Today, Amigos Cromwell remains a well-loved part of the community and a popular stop for both locals and holidaymakers passing through Central Otago.

For larger groups, please give our Cromwell team a call on 03 445 8263 or send us an email at cromwell@amigos.co.nz and we’ll help organise your booking. We also offer a set menu to make things easy for bigger groups, and depending on your group size, we may ask you to preorder your meals ahead of your visit.
