Wanaka is where the Amigos story began.
After first opening in 1995 at a different site, our Mexican restaurant moved to its current home at 71 Ardmore Street in 2013. Since then, it has continued to evolve through a number of renovations, while Wānaka has remained the original home of Amigos as we’ve grown across the South Island.
With a sunny deck and stunning mountain views, Amigos Wanaka has become a favourite gathering place for both locals and visitors. These days, we’re even serving the grandchildren of some of our original customers, a reminder of just how long Amigos has been part of the community.

For larger groups, please give our Wanaka team a call on 03 443 7872 or send us an email at wanaka@amigos.co.nz and we’ll help organise your booking. We also offer a set menu to make things easy for bigger groups, and depending on your group size, we may ask you to preorder your meals ahead of your visit.
