New Flavours Coming In Hot!

If it’s been a little while since your last Amigos visit, now’s a pretty good time to fix that.

We’ve been busy giving the menu a refresh, adding a bunch of new dishes and drinks inspired by our recent travels through Mexico, customer favourites, and a few ideas we’ve been itching to put on the new menu.

Whether you’re dropping in for a casual lunch, catching up over dinner, or just chasing your next taco fix, there’s plenty of new flavours waiting for you.

Fresh Flavours Across the Menu

We couldn’t stop at just one or two new dishes, so we’ve mixed things up right across the new menu.

To kick things off, there are a couple of new starters perfect for sharing (or not…we won’t judge). Our Elotes (a definite new favourite) bring charred corn ribs loaded with parmesan, crispy onions and crunchy corn chips, while Bravas y Piel is all about crispy potatoes, kumara skins and a smoky chipotle cheese dip that’s dangerously hard to stop eating.

Our taco lineup has had a glow-up too! The new Barbacoa Taco is packed with slow-braised lamb shoulder, avocado, kumara and chimichurri for something rich and seriously satisfying. If veggies are more your thing, the Berenjena Taco gives you sweet miso eggplant with fresh slaw and Kewpie mayo, and the new Polenta Taco delivers crispy spiced polenta chips, queso and pickled jalapeños for plenty of crunch.

But, one of the biggest changes to the menu is our brand-new quesadilla section! Crispy on the outside, cheesy on the inside, and packed with flavour, our quesadillas are made for anyone who believes there’s no such thing as too much melted cheese.

Choose from the smoky Pollo y Chorizo, the hearty Espinacas con Cerdo, or the veggie-friendly Frijoles y Patatas. Every quesadilla comes served with a fresh side salad, salsa and sour cream, making it the kind of meal you’ll already be planning to order again before you’ve finished the first bite.

Something to Wash it Down?

The food isn’t the only thing that’s had a refresh.

We’ve introduced our own range of Amigos Mexican Sodas, mixed in-house and served with fresh citrus. Choose from Mango, Hibiscus, Guava, Creaming Soda or Spicy Creaming Soda.

If you’re feeling like a cocktail, we’ve been busy there too. New additions include the tropical Pinkita, the citrusy Sol de Limon Spritz, the fruity Juan In A Million, the refreshing Ay, Caramba Sour, and the creamy Soda Cremosa.

Not drinking? No worries. Peach Fresca brings all the flavour without the alcohol.

And then there’s dessert…

Our new Torta de Queso is a baked cheesecake finished with coffee crumb and Kahlúa. It’s rich, creamy, and the perfect excuse to save room after your tacos.

The new menu is now available at all Amigos locations, so whether you’re joining us in Wānaka, Cromwell, Dunedin, Invercargill, Alexandra or Gore, the latest flavours are ready and waiting.
